Wingham Brush Day Club assistant administrator Brian Hilley was MC on the day – big thanks to Brian, it was a great job done.
Tom Barnsley presented Marie Hatchwell with a certificate for the club’s 30th birthday, while Netta Summerville received flowers from Brian for her up-coming 99th birthday.
Netta and Marie had the honour of cutting the birthday cake. Bit thanks to Valda and the girls in the kitchen for the great job on the cake.
Thank you also to the Club Taree Rock and Roll Social Dance Club who provided the entertainment on the day, club staff Barry and the ladies, and the chef and kitchen staff – the tables looked wonderful and the meal was out of this world.
Lastly, thank you to Pam Muxlow for taking the photographs and a very big thank you to all our Day Club volunteers for all the hard work – the day would not have turned out as well as it did without you all.
Day Clubs were established in NSW from 1977. They are sponsored by RSL sub-branches and supported by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Day Clubs provide social and activity opportunities for older people, mostly still living at home, but who are unable to attend more active programs offered in their local community.
