The business-building workshop, held on Wednesday August 9, was all about product development to assist regional businesses understand how to market effectively.
Accommodation providers came from Copeland, Gloucester, Elands, Forster, Hawks Nest, Wingham and Taree for the five-hour workshop, presented by consultants from the Destination Marketing Store.
“Participants received essential information about creating experiences that will help build awareness and appeal of the Mid Coast to visitors,” Gloucester tourism promotions officer, Thomas Davey said.
The group was told about what drives Australian’s to choose a holiday destination and how to tap into the right target market.
“The case studies and practical information provided will encourage well-planned marketing strategies, product positioning, target markets, competitive advantages and collaboration with other businesses.
“While accommodation providers were heavily represented at the workshop, this essential information applies equally to any business looking to grow.”
The consultants were also responsible for council’s draft Destination Management Plan, which is on display for public comment until August 23.
