On arrival, the members were treated to a Devonshire tea, followed by a guided tour of the garden. George led the members around his six-acre garden, explaining how it all started and outlining his plans for the future.
Everyone then tucked into a lunch of warm entrees, mixed sandwiches and homemade desserts and if that wasn’t enough, George sent them on their way with an old-time song and dance routine.
In appreciation for the day, the club president Margaret Harris-Walker presented George with a very generous cheque for $1000 for his nominated charity, Ronald McDonald House.
George sends a huge thank you to friends and neighbours for all the help on the day and, of course, his mother for all the scones, slices, and biscuits.
