Wingham’s Romae Muggleton lost her daughter, Michelle ‘Chelle’ Metcalfe nearly two years ago to pancreatic cancer and it was Chelle’s wish that people be made aware that November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month.
But the Manning Valley went one better last year raising not only awareness but more than $17,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
Romae said she can’t thank the people of Wingham and Taree enough for their support.
The fundraising dance will be held at Wingham Town Hall on September 23 to raise money for the Pancare Foundation.
Supper will be provided, there will be lucky door prizes, raffles, games and music by Barney.
The cost of the evening will be $20 per head with bookings available for tables of 10. Book at Country Clothing in Bent Street Wingham or phone Romae Muggleton on 6553 4319 for further information. Tickets on sale September 1-16.
There will also be a Dutch Auction on October 7 at the Senior Citizens Centre in Wingham (Masonic Hall), and a High Tea at Bent on Food on November 19.
