After injuring his knee in football last year he still runs the water for Taree Panthers u/15s but has turned his focus to his ever improving golf handicap.
In February he played in the Hunter Combined High School golf trials and Jack Newton Junior Golf Day at the Hawks Nest Golf Club course.
He came mild field, than went onto place 10th in Year 9s at the NSW All Schools Championship at Forster in May.
Danny followed that up with a fourth placed finish in his division at Kew Country Club where he played in the Jack Newton Junior North Coast Masters.
He brought some strong skills and sharp focus back to Wingham to win the single match play championship beating Brad Staff in the final two up.
A win in the 18 hole nett at the Wingham Junior Open Day was followed by a win in Taree, reducing his handicap down to 18 from 36.
Danny’s golfing future is certainly on the rise, he recently made the lower north coast junior representative team again and is hoping to play in the Jack Newton under 19 pennant finals in Newcastle later in the year.
Danny helps out on Sundays with junior golf at Wingham Golf Club.
