The Club Championship round was at the 800 yard distance this week and a large group of members were treated to excellent shooting conditions.

Once again, the Target Rifle A Grade shooters were in excellent form with Steve Southwell and Jim Blackmore posting two perfect rounds with only the centre count between them to place first and second for the day in A Grade.
Club secretary, Tony Moon dropped one point in the first stage to follow on in thirdplace with 99 and 11 centres.
Grafton shooter Andrew Geary, who had success on the electronic targets last week, returned and posted an impressive 99 with seven centres to take home the gong in Target Rifle B Grade for the second consecutive week. Andrew is in the process of transferring clubs and will join the membership ranks at Wingham in the next few weeks.
In Target Rifle C Grade junior shooter Forbes Thurtell had two excellent stages to finish in first place with a total 90 and four centres over Jon Knight and Gordon Higgins.
Christina Adams continues to shoot consistently in F Open division with a total tally of 116 and four centres and was the highest F Class score of the day.
The scores win F Class A grade were tight but once again it was the junior shooter who won the day with Declan Heaney posting two solid rounds to finish with a 115 and seven centres.
Meanwhile in F Class B Grade Mike Rogerson returned to form to take home the win over Ean Heaney by only two centres. Rogerson shot a total score of 115 and eight centres, followed by Heaney with 115 and six centres. The battle between the father/son duo of Ean and Declan Heaney has started in earnest with Declan nudging out his father this week by only one centre.
Suzi Laurie continues to improve each week in F Class B Grade and had two good stages this week, to take home bragging rights over husband Craig.
Mike Rogerson was the winner of the afternoon’s handicap event.
Meanwhile, Peter Thurtell has been competing in the final found of Commonwealth Games selection in Brisbane. Peter, who has been in superb form in recent months, finished the trial in third place and is now in contention for team selection. The team selectors will choose a two-man team from the top five at the final selection trial. It is expected they will announce the team sometime over the weekend.
And also in Brisbane are Wingham Rifle Club members Mal McKenzie and Barry White who are competing in the NRAA 46th National Rifle Championships.
