Eco-cleaning is a really easy and effective way to clean your home without harsh chemicals.
As our lives become busier it can be really easy to buy brightly coloured cleaning products that promise to clean your home effortlessly in 30 seconds. But sometimes we forget to stop and think what is inside these brightly coloured cleaning products. Some chemical concoctions can be harmful to yourself, your family and pets and our environment.
As people rethink what they’re bringing into their homes, they’re looking for greener solutions and eco-cleaning provides an easy, healthy and cost effective way to reduce chemicals in the home.
By joining this eco-cleaning workshop you’ll be challenged to reduce these harsh chemicals in your home and opt for a greener solution.
MIDWASTE project officer, Wendy Grant, would like to encourage locals to come along and learn something new.
“We’ll be showing participants how to use a range of natural and easily accessible ingredients like lemons, tea tree oil, vinegar and baking soda to make essential home cleaning products like shower and toilet cleaner,” Wendy said.
“By making these changes to your cleaning routine, not only is it better for the environment and your back-pocket, it also means that you’re not exposing yourself, your family and your pets to harsh chemicals,” she said.
The eco-cleaning workshop is on Saturday June 17, 1-3pm, at the Manning Valley Community Gardens behind the Old Courthouse at 4 Farquhar Street Wingham and is free to attend.
You will make your own easy eco-cleaning products to take home and get started.
