Club Championship round three May 18
Last year Chris Barnard finished in 5th place, but this year he has gotten off to a flying start posting a solid 187 to finish in 3rd place in Round three of the Club Championship.
Shooting in winter and under lights presents a different challenge to shooting in summer and in daylight. However, Barnard seems to have Batman eyes as he takes a 19-point lead on John Russell.
The club’s two new female shooters, while inexperienced, are showing great form with Sharron Ashby finishing the night in 4th position with a 185 and Rhonda Cassar, on only her second shoot, posting a very respectable score.
Small Bore rifle shooting uses a .22 caliber rifle and is shot every Thursday evening at the Wingham range.
It is a family oriented sport and the Club currently has a number of juniors shooting alongside their mothers each week.
Final scores for round three were: D Robinson 193, T Moon 189, C Barnard 187, S Ashby 185, J Russell 182, C Adams 178, F Alcott 164, G Higgins 162, R Cassar 153, C McCarthy 148, N Ashby 98.
