The Wingham Tigers went into Saturday's game at the Old Bar Reserve against the Pirates having lost their previous two games.

Inside the first ten minutes, the home team ran the ball on the last tackle, resulting in a try out wide to lead 6-0.
Five minutes later, Michael Bailey was sent on a run down the wing to score under the posts. He converted his own try to level the scores.
Mid way through the half, Old Bar Beach scored again in the corner after a backline move to go to a 12-6 advantage.
Inside the final five minutes of the half, Michael Bailey scored again after Wingham were given six more tackles. Again he added the extra points to level the scores at 12-12.
Just before the break, the Pirates kicked from a scrum win, and went into half time leading 16-12.
The Pirates could have gone further ahead early in the second stanza, but knocked the ball on over the goal line.
When Rumone Jackson was put through a hole in the defence five minutes later for a try, and Michael Bailey added the extra points, the Tigers led for the first time in the game by 18-16.
It didn't last long, as the home team scored in the corner after running the ball on the last tackle to regain the lead by 20-18.
It was anyone's game, then with ten minutes remaining, the Pirates scored from dummy half to lead by eight points
A penalty goal in the final minute to Old Bar made the final score 28-18, which co-incidentally was the same score as the previous week.

Reserve grade
The reserve grade game was tough, and the score did not indicate the closeness of the game.
An early try to Ryan Morris gave Wingham a 4-0 lead.
The Pirates then scored beside the posts to take a 6-4 advantage.
Midway through the half, Adam Kerr scored and his try was converted by Fletcher Lewis to lead 10-6.
Then Daniel Thorpe crossed out wide to extend the lead to 14-6.
Five minutes before half time, Aaron Bakewell took an intercept and ran 70 metres to score under the posts. Again Fletcher Lewis added the extra points, and the Tigers took a 20-6 advantage into the break.
Liam O'Neil scored early in the second half to extend the lead to 24-6.
As things began to boil over, two Wingham players found themselves in the sin-bin, and the home team responded with a try.
When they returned, Wayne Holstein scored under the posts, and Nick Beacham added the conversion for a 30-10 score.
A try to the Pirates from dummy half under the posts made the score 30-16.
A late try to Ryan Morris, converted by Fletcher Lewis made the final score 36-16.

Under 18s
The Tigers under 18s were first on the scoreboard after Shane Morecome scored from dummy half and it was converted by Blade Thorpe for a 6-0 lead.
But then the Pirates scored consecutive tries to lead 10-6 at half time.
The game was taken by the home team with three tries in ten minutes to lead 24-6.
Back to back tries by Ash Kelly, the second after 50 metre break from Callum Wesley, made the score 24-14.
A late try to the Pirates beside the posts made the final score 30-14.

League Tag
The Wingham ladies' league tag team put in another creditable performance against a strong Pirates team.
The home team led 12-0, before a try to Lucy Noonan in the corner made the score 12-4 at half time.
Old Bar scored two more tries in the second half to win 24-4.
