On Wednesday May 10 the veterans played the second round of their championships. Tthe winner was Sandy Dunn with 65 nett, next was Alwyn Elith 66 nett, followed by Gary Stackman 66. There was 50 starters. The NTP winners were Don Gutterson on the 3rd/12, and Syd Gilfillan on the the 7th 16th.
On Thursday May 11 there were 37 starters in the chook run on the 3rd, and the winner was Craig Harrison with 23pts a par round, next was Terry Woods 23, Graham Manzfield 21, Phil Nelson 20 c/b, Ian Scarr 20c/b, Earle Braham 20c/b. Nev Blanch won the NTP on the 3rd, Craig Harrison good shot in on the 7th.
The ladies o played a stableford round on Friday May 12. The winner was Marcia Fowler, followed by Debbie Stewart. Ball winners P. Marcus, N. Nelson, S. McKenna, E. Findler. C. Gates won the NTP.
Saturday May 13 dawned a beautiful day for the first round of the championship.
The winner of the Taree Toyoto Monthly Mug and the Drummond Golf Voucher was John Aldous with a 64 nett on a countback. A.grade winner was Brock Hynes 71 – he also won he M. R.D Electrical Monthly Medal, Steve Abbott won B Grade with 66nett, Paul Muir won C grade with 64nett, scratch winners were for A Grade Reid Brown 75 on a countback from his father, Bill Osborne was the B Grade winner with 84c/b, Gary Stackman 90 is leading C Grade.
The NTP winners were John Hynes winning the voucher from Wingham Plaza Butchers, Phil Jirman won the Wingham Remedial Massage pin on the 3rd/12th, 4th/13th was won by Reid Brown, 7th/16th Bayview Seafood winner was Peter Bell, and Gary Croucher is going for a coffee at Bent on Food for the 9th/18th.
The long drives were won by Jason Fowles for A Grade, Pete Hinton for B Grade, Paul Muir for C, Grade. Balls went 72 with Daryl Heywood winning the last one on 72.
Next week will be the second round of the championships.
