Funding for gun clubs

THREE Manning clubs will receive nearly $32,000 in NSW government funding as part of the 2016/17 Safe Shooting Program to upgrade facilities.

Manning Valley Rifle Club was successful in gaining $6250 for the installation of solar power to connect to clubhouse and firing range lines.

More than $5500 was provided to Taree Wingham Clay Target Club to install safety fencing, boundary markers, danger signage to comply with standards and the purchase of shipping containers for storage.

Taree Pistol Club will benefit from a $20,000 funding boost in order to upgrade the existing range division walls and targets to comply with Firearms Registry Standards.

“The main aim of this program is to increase the safety at shooting facilities in NSW as well as during club sponsored activities held away from a club's permanent base,” Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said in announcing the funding.
