On Sunday March 19, Carmel once again entered a talent quest run by the Hastings Country Music Association at the Wauchope RSL Club.
She was hoping to win another trophy on the day to bring her total trophy collection to 30, but she exceeded her expectations.
Carmel won the senior female vocal section performing If those lips could only speak. She placed second in open gospel with Amazing Grace and second in comedy with Older Ladies’ Anthem.
Just as she was last year, she was also the highest pointscore winner for which she received yet another trophy, and her name will be added, again, to the Dave and Chrissy Hamilton Perpetual Trophy.
To top off the day Carmel also won the chance to record at CD at a recording studio in Beechwood.
On Monday evening Carmel, husband Dennitt, and son David enjoyed dinner at the Wingham Services Club to celebrate Carmel’s birthday.
