This was the last opportunity for members to register a score at the 600 yard distance in this year’s club championships and conditions, whilst a little soggy, were generally very good. Cloud cover and cooler temperatures provided relief from the searing heat experienced in recent weeks.
The excellent conditions were reflected in some very high scores throughout the afternoon.
Mal McKenzie continued to blitz the field in Target Rifle A Grade with two perfect rounds finishing with a total score of 125 with 15 centres to take home the win in his grade.
Jim Blackmore is continuing his domination of the Target Rifle B Grade event posting a score of 124 with 16 centres for the day.
Suzi Laurie shot two excellent stages to win F Standard B Grade and the Handicap event with a final score of 143 with 9 centres and once again has bragging rights over husband Craig Laurie who finished the day with 139 and 3 centres.
Club treasurer Phil Costa also posted two excellent stages and won the F Standard A Grade event with a final score of 144 with 8 centres.
Competition next week is at the 700-yard distance with only three weeks left in this year’s Club Championships.
