Comboyne Show on Saturday March 11, features two new, exciting and entertaining competitions, appropriate for celebrating the show’s 80th year.
The Young Farmers’ Challenge requires teams of four people aged 18 - 40 (including both males and females) to complete in a number of rural based challenges in the safest manner and the fastest time.
There will be cash prizes, and the winning team will be able to compete in the State Finals at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. For more details and to enter, please contact: Andrew Carroll on 0434 626 082.
The Heavy Horse and Harness Feature is being organised by Bradley Adams. For information phone 0428 425 826 a/h.
This new, all-day Oval event includes Led, Ridden, Working Horse, Harness, and Driver Divisions, plus the “Farm House Challenge” to entertain spectators with a novelty Slide obstacle course.
The driver, offsider and their trusty steed will be challenged in a timed and penalty based course, with six obstacles to complete, through a course replicating the daily life of a farmer in days before machines.
Comboyne Show is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a wonderful display of photos, documents and memorabilia, in the beautiful new “Billabong” building, celebrating the history of the Comboyne plateau and surrounds.
There will also be some amazing historic machinery, a working milking machine and local early cars and tractors on display.
The Comboyne Show committee would like to thank all the local, individual and businesses for sponsorship we have received for our Show. Without the help of these faithful supporters and the wider community this great Australian tradition couldn’t have been sustained for over 80 years.
With an amazing range of local produce, fabulous flowers and plants, baking and preserves, and some of the best local art, craft, and photography, the show offers fun for all ages with a family animal nursery, face painting and some great fun fair rides.
The Comboyne Championship Dog Show, a dog agility demonstration and Poultry Show are always popular and educational.
Come and enjoy a great family day with country cooking and hospitality.
Mark your calendar March 5 for the Equestrian Events, and March 11 for the main show day.
