Scorcher of a Week
I trust that all my readers have survived the extreme hot weather we have been receiving these past few days or should I say almost weeks. We are very fortunate we haven’t had any major fires this time but many thanks to those girls and guys who have donned the orange overalls and given of their time freely to fight these fires – it is hoped that no one has lost their lives as buildings etc. can always be replaced.

Wedding Celebration
Congratulations to friends Barbara and Tommy Clarke of Wingham who celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Saturday, February 11. May you have many more with your loving family and hope the days are full of happy memories.
Another special couple who celebrated 45 years of marriage on Sunday February 12, was brother in law Garry Muxlow and wife Barbara of Lemon Tree Passage - love from all the family.
Not to be left behind, John and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary last Thursday, February 9. We enjoyed a meal out at the Wingham Services Club that evening. Many thanks to staff member Ned who arranged a lovely flower arrangement and decorations with a special message ‘love is a journey, not a destination’.
Visit by Archdeacon
St. Luke’s and St. Matthew’s welcomed Archdeacon Les Forester to their services on Sunday and appreciated his sermon on stewardship within the church.
Following the morning service at St. Luke’s Archdeacon Les joined the congregation for morning tea as those gathered wished John Murray a very happy birthday as he blew out his candles for his special day on February 14.
