Four exercise machines plus a shade sail are earmarked for the project in the Isabella and Bent Street corner of Central Park.
On Monday contractors were preparing the foundations for the concrete slab due to be poured on Saturday, weather permitting.
“We’re hoping for the weather to be as cool as possible on Saturday and no rain,” said Daniel Lyon of Lyon Hunter Concreting.
As the form work got underway holes were also being drilled for the shade sail poles.
The shade sails are expected to be completed next week with the exercise machines expected to arrive by the end of February.
Local Rotary members harnessed the support of the NSW State Government to receive the $30,000 funding needed to complete the project.
In December 2016 the club also circulated a petition which attracted 1500 signatures of support for the project.
