Collectively, 38 employees have given an incredible 515 years of service to residents at Whiddon Wingham, enriching the lives of many in the community.

These valued employees were honoured at an event celebrating service milestones ranging from five to 35 years.

Whiddon Wingham director Care Services, Ms Leonie Burke said the contributions of these long-serving employees are incredible.

“We are excited to recognise and honour these very deserving staff members. Each and every day, they go out of their way to enrich the lives of those we care for and I congratulate them on reaching these milestones,” Ms Burke said.

“We are one big family here and they bring passion, dedication and love to our home. Over many years, they have truly made a difference to the lives of many in our community.

“I am very proud of them. We have staff that drive here from Harrington and Old Bar. They’re not just local employees. I have a lot of staff that do travel some distance to get here,” she said.

Whiddon’s general manager Residential Care, Sally Renshaw said Wingham is a great team, and praised Leonie Burke for heading the team.

“Leonie has been with us since 2014 and has made a remarkable difference. Her leadership is very impressive, and I think that’s gone a long way to where we are today here at Wingham.

“She’s very family friendly; she’s very accommodating to their personal needs – just want you want for a manager to keep staff happy and engaged” Ms Renshaw said.
