Resuming on 1/43 chasing 223 for victory, Wingham were dismissed for 186 after a sub-standard batting display.
Old Bar’s pace attack of Dave Rees and Rhys Whitton did the damage with three wickets apiece. Both bowled 12 overs with Rees particularly miserly, costing just 23 runs, with five maidens, while Whitton leaked 61 runs.
Wingham went into the day full of confidence and boasting a lengthy batting order. Complacency may have been the problem as few batsmen placed value on their wickets.
Josh Davis and Ben Scowen resumed and took the score to 69 before Davis got a leading edge off Tim Rees for Mark Polson to take a good catch. Davis had taken his score from 16 to 33 with another four boundaries.
Ryan Morris attempted a pull shot off Hugh Polson, but missed and was bowled for a duck, without adding to the total.
Grahame Stinson forced Tim Rees out of the attack with some lusty blows as he and Davis added 66 for the fourth wicket. Just after the drinks break, Dave Rees dismissed both batsmen within one run, having Scowen caught for 53 (9 fours) and bowling Stinson on 28 (1 six, 3 fours).
Whitton backed that up by dismissing Brad Staff for 4 and Mick Stinson for 8 before Daniel Barber (4) ran himself out. Wayne Smoothy was caught behind off Whitton for 8, leaving only Matt and Hayden Essery to make the remaining 56 runs to win. They managed just 19 before Hayden was brilliantly caught by Ben Cole for 11 while Matt remained 15 not out.
Tim Rees returned 2/51 and Hugh Polson 1/46 as Old Bar used just four bowlers in recording the upset. Chasing second innings bonus points Wingham’s bowlers fired up, reducing Old Bar to 3/10 as Davis removed Blake Polson and Tim Rees and Mick Stinson bowled Whitton. Ben Cole smashed six boundaries before the brothers Stinson combined to send him off, caught Grahame bowled Mick for 26. Dave Rees succumbed for 14 and Mick Whitton and Sam Mudford both got ducks as the Seasiders slumped to 7/57.
A 30 run partnership between Liam O’Neil (30) and Hugh Polson (10) thwarted Wingham’s outright bid.
