The exhibition, running in alongside Franc Hancock’s ‘The Forest’, will display a selection of artworks including the newly acquired portrait by Australian artist and comedian Anh Do. The artwork was entered in the most recent Manning Art Prize.
Acting art gallery director Rachel Peircy said the Manning Art Prize theme of ‘Naked and Nude’ has further built the gallery’s collection of artworks based on figures - a common theme amongst the collection.
The exhibition includes work from photographer Max Dupain, Reg Mombassa and Jocelyn Maughan – whose artwork was created on the gallery’s wall in the first On the Wall project.
Artworks are largely acquired by the gallery’s collection through donations.
