The small amount of rain we have had has brightened the course quite a bit but more is needed,
On Saturday the Taree Toyoto Monthly Mug was played for, and the winner was Syd Gilfillan with a great 68 nett. He also wins the Drummond Golf Voucher and the MRD Electrical Monthly Medal. There is still life in the old fellow.
The A grade nett and medal was won by Tony Henwood with 72. James Urquhart was the winner of the B grade nett with 70. C grade nett and medal was won by Paul Shepherd with 70.
The scratch winners were Reid Brown with 77 coming off a big win in Sydney. Congratulations Reid. The B Grade scratch was taken out by John Hynes 85, and the C grade winner was Garry Masters 97.
The long drives donated by the Golf Club Motel were won by Damo Moore for A grade, Terry Harris B grade, and C grade was taken out by Neville's number one son Mark Blanch.
The sharp shooters winning the NTPs were on the 1st and 10th; winning the Wingham Plaza Butchers voucher was Mone Vilayrack 1.27m. The 3rd and 12th Wingham Gourmet Meats Paul Shepherd 1.61m, and All About Conveyancing Paul Boyd 5.26m. Seventh and 16th Bayview Seafood Syd Gilfillan 6m and the 9th and 18th Bent on Food Paul Boyd 1.53m.
Ball winners were C. Moore, B. Brown, D. Mckeough, B. Yarnold, G. Swaffield, G. Croucher, N. Blanch, C. Harrison, F.S chubert, P. Boyd 75c/b.
There was a funny Incident on Saturday with some scrambling for the rule book with much flicking through. The person involved was right in his call – just proves that you need to read the rules.
On Thursday the chook run was won by Rex White 21c/b, next was Danny Bisby 21, Neville Blanch 20c/b, John Hickel 20c/b, Katrina Greenaway 20c/b, Craig Harrison 20c/b, Phil Nelson 20. The NTP winners were on the 3rd and Beth Brahan on the 7th.
The ladies on Friday played a stableford and the winner was Noelene Nelson with 21ps, Next was Jan Ditton 20. Ball winners were Leslie Steel, Pat Whiteley, Deb Stewart, and Elaine Findler.
Events coming up over the next few weeks are the Wingham Cup, sponsored by Jax Tyres on January 14. This will be a stroke round.
January 21 will be a stableford for the Wingham Beef Trophy, and January 28 the Wally Masters competition.
The Presentation Night will be held on January 21, and the club AGM on January 29.
