We are very lucky to have such a large, cleared area for them to land on. It gives the pilots, the ambulance personnel plenty of room to get things done and the trip to hospital can begin with less time lost.
On the subject of cricket I’m sad to say Mount George did not fare as well at Ken Malpass Oval with the final score Wingham 5/222, while our boys managed only 69 runs before they were dismissed.
Wicket takers for Mt George were L. Jarvis and G. Chapman, two wickets each, while A. Urquhart took the other three. Field honours went to J. Chapman and R. Rodgers who each took one catch and B. Solomon, whose safe hands captured two. Next Saturday we play at Bulahdelah at their home ground and we wish our team lots of luck in the match.
Do you realise it’s only eighteen days until Santa comes? Hasn’t 2016 flown by quickly? School holidays begin on December 17, and Christmas parties are in full swing, so please put road safety first.
There have been 361 road deaths this year and hopefully we won’t have another five fatalities before year’s end, or we would average a death per day for 2016, including the extra one for the extra day as it’s a leap year. Please drive and use our roads carefully.
