Mixed Fours championship final
This Ian Furner and business sponsored event was concluded on Sunday with the team well led by Steve Matheson, Greg Bartlett, Denise Matheson and Claudia O’Donnell taking the title with a 24-17 victory over Glen and Laurelle Dennes, Jim Gillogly and Alana Burns.

The only time Glenn was in front was on the first end and for the remainder of the game the opposition led and overall won 13 of the 21 ends. On a few occasions Steve was aware of the opposition holding shots on some of the ends, however he showed his class to take away the advantage held by Glenn’s team.
Wednesday ‘Dad’s Army’
Greg Bartlett, Ben Wolters and Allan Messer returned the best card with their +10 win over Col Hinton, Daniel Leadbeater and Ross Piggott.
The very well balanced combination of Stan Burnell-Jones and Glenn Gilford recorded a +6 victory against Brian Williams and Tim Richardson.
Peter Holden, Andy Leung and Jake Kennett finished with a + 4 to down Bob Hardy, George Floyd and Guy Watts.
Playing our a draw were the teams of Dallas Hammond, Rex Thomas and Allan Dodd against Steve Knott, Mick Hollebone and Allan as ‘swinging’ lead.
Wednesday Twilight
The lucky winners were Col McTaggart and Wayne Goward even though they went down by two shots to Nev Bell and Mark Hammond.
Tony Colchen playing with his ex-neighbour Peter Howarth had a good win and took out the runners up position in their game against Jay Nicholson and Kim McCloy.
Aaron Murray, ‘Foody’ Martin and Cliff Bush collected a few more shots than their opponents, Blake Sky, Regan Lowman and Trent Grofos.
Allan Dodd led the way when he played with Hunter Payton against Tony Lowman and Neil Greenaway with Allan getting up five shots.
Friday – 4.30pm start

Saturday open
Once again Chris Kane keeps the media interested and this time he was fortunate to have a competent lady to help win the game and outright daily winner. Leonie Gilford and the ever reliable Allan Cox helped Chris against Dallas Hammond. Peter Tindall and Lorraine Rothe with a + 20 result to Chris.
Jack Pie lets it known that he had not lost a game since coming from his Taree club some time ago, however he went down when playing with Jim Gillogly and Glenn Gilford to Graeme Ireland, Mick Hollebone and Graeme Mansfield with a +9 difference.
Tom Moore, Kev Coles and Snow Trenchard finished with a +4 result over Laurie Mullen, Howard Snelson and Elaine Holden.
All those present after the game were well informed by Stan Bjurnell-Jones that his team of Lillian Cross and Tim Richardson got up by a shot after they had picked up five shots on the final end against Greg Bartlett, Leslie Burnell-Jones and Allan Dodd.
This Saturday
The organisers have an open event commencing at 1pm followed by the presentation to all winners and runners up in this years championship events.
