This month’s feature producer is Vivienne Scott of Vivienne Scott Designs.
Vivienne designs and creates jewellery from semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals from her home in Taree, and sells them through the markets.
She started in the 1980’s at Pacific Palms with clip earrings and one card table, after having started by making the earrings for herself.
She still makes these and they remain very popular, with people even travelling from Newcastle to buy.
She expanded into other jewellery thanks to her daughter who “wanted things that I couldn’t afford to buy”. She now has an extensive range – and three large trestle tables for her stall.
“Oh I love it, it’s my passion” says Vivienne.
She spends all her time creating.
The design process takes hours then the construction takes a quarter of that time.
Each piece she creates is a one off original.
She says “there’s nothing you can do wrong with a Swarovski crystal, they’re magic”, but she particularly loves the stones and is a member of the local gem club.
Her partner Richard “the roadie” credits her beautiful pieces to her particular skill with colour and proportion.
You can meet Vivienne and Richard this Saturday at the Wingham Farmers’ Market, and with such huge variety of jewellery you are sure to find a Christmas gift.
You will also find fantastic locally-made stocking fillers and goodies from other stallholders, including Christmas puddings, wines, cheeses, honey, jams, macadamias, organic seeds and seedlings and much more.
Wingham Farmers’ Market is on Saturday December 3 at Wingham Showground, between 8am and noon.
If you have something to sell at the markets new stallholders are always welcome, with site fees waived at your first market.
Direct stall holder enquiries to Annette on 6550 7213.
Don’t forget if you have any excess produce to sell you can drop it at the community stall to sell on your behalf. There is more information online at www.winghamfarmersmarket.org.au and on Facebook.
The Wingham Men’s Shed is holding a garage sale at the same time as the markets.
