Did you manage to back the winner of the Melbourne Cup or win a sweep at a luncheon? Some members of Mount George Red Cross attended the annual function put on by the Tinonee branch and, as per usual, had a great day out. Thanks Tinonee, for inviting us once again.

Cricket results – Mount George has had four matches to date, the first was a loss and the second one, I am informed, was a win against Wingham 205 runs to 186. The third was a washout and the fourth played last Saturday was another loss.
The boys played Bulahdelah at Rec 3 ground and went down 8/93 to 3/100. Not the result they wanted but the season is young and they have time to improve. Each year they tell me they are out for the enjoyment of the game more than the win, which is a wonderful philosophy for any sports team. All three wickets were taken by N Mylonas; J Scaven took one catch, and our highest score was 36 not out. Next Saturday they play Old Bar at their ground.
Congratulations to Elizabeth and James Archinal who had roles in Crystal Dreaming – a stage production by Arianna Schneider. The pupils of the local school were invited to the performance on October 19, at Taree Christian College Theatre.
There is an appeal by the school for toys and girls’ clothing to suit ages 0 to 12, as a family connected to the school lost all their belongings in a fire over the holiday break. If you can assist please leave items at the school.
The next P&C meeting is on Friday, November 25, at 1pm. All parents and community members are welcome. The more hands, the less work each has to do, so give your support. Non perishable donations for the annual P&C Christmas hamper raffle can be left at the school from now in preparation for the drawing at term’s end.
Many thanks to Mid Coast Council for the work done on Nowendoc Road unsealed surface past Fay Conroy’s property last week. I have had reports there is an improvement there and the drivers concerned are very grateful.
