Graeme Ireland led his team of Paul Swan, Tina Rushworth and Pat Marcus to a resounding victory over Ian Furner, Leonie and Glenn Gilford together with Lorraine Rothe, who was a sub for Chris Wille,y with the final score being 27-12.

On the second end Graeme’s team picked up five shots and also four shots on the final end to only allow the opposition to win six ends in the encounter.
In a closely contested match Glen and Laurelle Dennes had with them Jim Gillogly and Alana Burns and they just managed to win by five shots over Stan and Leslie Burnell-Jones, together with Mick and Maureen Hollebone with the final score being 19-14.
Stan’s team were down by six shots midway into the game but fought back to even the score at 14 apiece with two ends to complete the match. Glen’s team collected three shots on the final end and that was one of the rare multiples in the match.
Wednesday Dad’s Army
Steve Knott and Glenn Gilford with a +14 were the winners of the event and they outclassed Col Hinton and Graeme Mansfield.
Peter Holden, Ben Wolters and Peter Tutty could have won the day against Jim Gillogly, Andy Leung and Allan Messer when they led by 17 shots with only three ends to complete the game. But Jim’s team won those ends together with a five on the final one to only allow Peter’s team to become runners up for the day.
Brian Williams, Jake Kennett and Allan Dodd had a seven shot win over Dallas Hammond, Rex Thomas and Tim Richardson.
Jack Pie, Mick Hollebone and George Floyd snuck home by winning the last end with getting six shots to down Greg Bartlett, Dennes Rothe and Ross Piggott. Greg’s team were in front until the final end with the result favouring Jack 17-12.
Wednesday Twilight
It didn’t take Neil Greenaway long on the greens to become a winner when he played with Aaron Murray and Tony Lowman. They outclassed Wayne Goward, Neville Bell and Allan Dodd by 12 shot and took home the big vouchers.
Tony Lowman introduced his two sons to the game and they played with Luke Steel and they did well to only go down by a few shots to the experienced Mark Hammond, Col McTaggart and Mick Harris.
Playing out a draw were Hunter Payton, Jim and John Gillogly who were up against Peter Howarth, Peter Kriss and Tony Colchen.
Important meeting
The Bowls committee are holding this meeting at 11am Saturday to discuss the nomination of teams for next year’s pennant season.
