The local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community are invited to participate in a day of Gathang - the traditional Aboriginal language spoken on Biripi country.

The immersion day is being held at Saltwater Reserve on Friday, November 11 from 10am to 2pm.

The Saltwater day is the first in a session of six will be held at locations from Tea Gardens up to Kempsey and is a step in the revitalisation of the language for community ownership.

Participants can expect a fun day of language immersion, games, discussion, swimming, beach art, canoeing, documentation and more.
