There were three very good games played.
Claudia O'Donnell got away to a great start but Alana Burns stayed with her and by the 20th end there were only two points in it. However, endurance prevailed and Claudia hung on to win on the 29th end.
Lorraine Rothe and Tina Rushworth battled back and forth, drawing a massive five times in a very exciting game which Tina pulled away to win in the last eight ends.
Jo Duncan started off well and was leading by the fifth end but Elaine Holden ramped up a gear and never looked backwards.
Well done all players.
Next week we will have the second round, L Gilford v M Hollebone, P Weir v L Dennes and C Willey v D Mathieson.
Normal play or forfeit rules apply.
Social bowls will be played.
