However, this year it was time for their Davidson Plum Chilli Sauce to shine, judged Champion Savoury Preserve and Best in Show. Not to be outdone, their Lemon Myrtle Spice once again picked up a Gold Medal and Champion Specialty Product.
The label has gone from strength-to-strength since the creators, Barbara and Bruce Barlin, decided to finally enter the competition in 2013 after exhibiting their products for over a decade.
From humble beginnings the couple are now exporting about 600 kilos of Mrytle Tea per month. Building up this viable bushfood label has been a continuous challenge for the couple.
The unexpected venture began when the Barlins, who have a background in computing, were left to to harvest 3000 Lemon Myrtle trees they were simply meant to grow for a supplier.
