All teams will have the stability of being led by the same captains as last season with Matt Essery leading first Grade, Dennis Smith in charge of seconds and Scott Blanch at the helm of thirds.
At this stage there appears little change to team make-ups, although firsts have lost the services of talented all-rounder Josh Davis, who has returned home to the Upper Hunter.
First grade will commence the year with one-day matches and tackle reigning premiers, United, at Chatham. Unfortunately Matt Essery, last season’s Player of the Year, is unavailable on Saturday and a number of players have other commitments so the side is yet to be finalised.
Mainstays Brock Hynes and Mick Stinson will lead the batting line-up, whilst newly-appointed MRDCA president, Ryan Williams, again spearheads the pace attack. Youngsters Ryan Morris (keeper/batsman) and Mitch Niven (spin) will have ample opportunity to display their abilities with bat and ball throughout the year.
Second grade has first use of Cedar Party Reserve where they play Old Bar, whilst thirds come up against Great Lakes at Central Park.
The club trains each Thursday afternoon at Cedar Party Reserve and any new players are welcome.
