Today the federal environment minister has said he is open to proposals for drum lines and a cull of great white sharks, including on the NSW north coast.
“I absolutely put human safety first and foremost in my mind,” Josh Frydenberg told media this morning.
On the Mid North Coast there have been a number of attacks in recent times and these too have reignited debate about what, if anything, should be done.
