The official opening takes place at 11am with current students officiating the proceedings. Year three Biripi student Tamira will perform Welcome to Country.
There will be a variety of performances of music and poetry by past and present students, and plenty of fun stalls and old-fashioned games. A delicious lunch will be served along with sweets and refreshments.
Both classrooms will be opened to the public, with the infants room containing a static display of historical memorabilia.
In the senior classroom there will be slideshow of selected school photos gathered over the last 100 hundred years and an audio slideshow of interviews that were recorded with some of the older ex students who were unable to travel.
A monster raffle will be drawn on the day with prizes of a painting from local artist Peter Schouten, a rainbow crocheted blanket from Kaye McCarthy, a colourful quilted blanket from Belinda Somers, and a dot painted table from local Aboriginal artists Raechel and Russell Saunders.
The events will be followed with a photographic display at the Bulga Soldier’s Memorial Hall followed by a dinner dance.
For those wanting to stay for the weekend, camping is available close by.
