All CWA branches within the area were cited for awards. No branch prizes, but CWA of NSW is a state finalist. It is wonderful to have such recognition for the hours spent by thousands of our members in service for others.
The Wingham branch has decided to again give each primary school a transition award for a deserving student.
Members will also be involved in another school holiday craft event at the library and will provide shortbread treats at Christmas.
The cultural girls brought the house down at the group day, with their Gilligan’s Island skit. Don’t ask who wore the dot bikini.

Handicraft continues to be the favourite day out for many; 18 attended last week.
Mongolia, our country of study, continues to fascinate, so old in many ways but how modern in others: desert nomads and high rise cities with great universities.
Sanitation projects in Sri Lanka were discussed in the ACWW report. Pre-schools are the major area of work but poor isolated homes, where there are no latrines, have been assisted. So much work needed in so many poverty stricken areas.
