President Ray Flippence welcomed eight members and received two apologies after declaring the meeting open at 7pm.
Following the presentation of the 2015 AGM minutes and audited financial report, president Ray thanked all his members for the wonderful job and assistance that he had received over the previous year and the years that he had been president.
He announced to all that he was now stepping down from his president’s position due to he and wife Alison having sold their property and would be leaving the area shortly to return to the Central Coast.
All positions on the committee were declared vacant with past Ray conducting the elections with the following members taking on the roles as follows for 2016-2017.
- Hall president Janette Hayden
- Vice president Helen Moore
- Secretary Janette Hayden
- Treasurer Pamela Muxlow
- Booking officer and catering officer Jenny Cherry
- Public officer Janette Hayden
- Publicity officer Lesley Tonkin
- Assistant publicity officer Ruth Sumpner
With the passing of the Late James Gollan earlier in the year, Mrs Helen Bennett was invited to fill this position and said she was honoured to accept. With all positions filled the members were congratulated by Ray and he wished them well in the times ahead. The AGM was declared closed and this was then followed by the general monthly meeting for September when business discussed was the upcoming Manning Valley Choral Society’ performance of ‘Tea & Tragedy’ on Saturday September 24.
Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy an afternoon of singing and fun from 2pm with afternoon tea to be served. Tickets are $10 per adult, $8 concession or children, $20 family, $7 for afternoon tea. Tickets will be available at the door.
