On Tuesday September 13 we played the very popular Open Pairs event. Lady bowlers from many clubs came to play: Lake Cathie, Kew, Forster, Tuncurry Beach, Taree Railway, Taree Leagues, Manning Point and of course Wingham.

The winner was June Wall, Lorraine Mazuk (Forster) two wins +25.
Runner up was Lake Cathie – Yvonne Howard, Anne Wilson, two wins +24
Third place Tuncurry Beach - Sue Thomas, Marelle Subberfield, two wins +24.
Fourth place Wingham – Alana Burns, Maureen Hollebone, two wins +22.
All bowlers remarked on our beautiful morning tea of home cooked slices, and lunch.
Thursday September 15 we had the semi-final of Minor Singles.
J. Duncan defeated M. Hollebone 25/22 in a closely fought match.
Joanne didn’t score on seven ends in the middle of this match but finished strongly. Maureen kept a steady pace until she too tired towards the end.
Good match ladies!
C. Willey defeated D. Polley 26/18.
Denise was leading 18 to Chris’s 17 on the 20th end when the tide turned. Chris is a strong finisher where she put 12 points onto her score in the final five ends.
Congratuations to all the players on their good sportsmanship.
Social Bowls
We played one games of pairs and one game of triples, with the results as follows.
L. Gilford, N. Sandford - 20 defeated G. Bell, M. Hinton – 7.
P. Marcus (skip), T. Rushworth, J. Thorburn – 29 defeated L. Dennes (skip), E. Holden, J. Stewart - 12.
Winners with the smallest margin were N. Sandford and L. Gilford.
