COMBOYNE SPRING SPECTACULAR
On Sunday, September 25, Comboyne Showground comes alive for a spring spectacular. There’s so much to see with a special art exhibit; floral display; car club capers; Midcoast mower racing; animals; classic motorcycles; historic machinery; poultry; live music; fair rides; face painting; whip cracking; market stalls; food and beverages. Entry is $5 for adults, (under-16 free). Parking is free and all proceeds will aid the community-owned Comboyne Showground and Westpac Rescue Helicopters. See full details at www.comboyneshow.com
FLAT CHAT NEWS
Auction day at Wherrol Flat was great with perfect weather. A big thank you to all our workers and our auctioneers, and to everyone who donated consignment goods. All money goes to the upkeep of our hall. Diary dates – Saturday, October 8, from 8pm - 50/50 dance; Christmas get-together and Santa visit at a date and time to be advised. December 31, from 8pm - New Year’s Eve 50/50 dance. More information closer to the dates.

Wingham Brush Public: Diary dates - Wednesday, September 14, Kinder Orientation 9.30am-11am; Thursday 15 - Canteen $5 lunch special - sausage on a bread roll, choice of drink and a special gift. A flyer will be sent home for this lunch order. No usual lunch orders will be taken; Friday 16 - Zone Touch Gala Day; Monday 19 - years 3 and 4 Public Speaking Grand Final; Wednesday 21 - Years 5 and 6 Public Speaking Grand Final; Thursday 22 - Assembly hosted by 2S at 2.15pm; Friday 23 - Brush Has Got Talent; Friday 23 - School Netball Grand Final and last day of Term 3. OCTOBER - Monday 10 - First day of Term 4.
Wingham Public School: Regional athletics - Hunter Regional Athletics Carnival last Friday - Jake Andrews (100m), Blake Boyd (high jump), Taliyah Scarr (shot put) and Amber Moore (100m) gave it their all in the wet conditions. Amber set a new PB. Wednesday, September 14, sport and debating photos will be taken. The boy’s cricket team need to bring their white trousers, debaters wear your full, formal uniform. Wednesday 21 - kindergarten orientation day; Thursday 22 – P&C Disco; Friday 23 – last day Term 3.
