Everything from secondhand books to pre-loved clothes, fresh vegetables, honey, scented soaps, cakes, homemade chocolates, craft, DVDs, art work by local Ron Hindmarsh, plants, and face painting were on offer. Members of the hall committee provided Devonshire teas and sandwiches to enjoy.
The committee also had a fruit and vegetable tray on offer, won by Tinonee resident Julie Blake who was thrilled when told she was the winner.
Many thanks to everyone involved in making the day come together, especially to co-ordinator Lesley who put many hours into organizing the day. It was great the day stayed mostly fine, with just an occasional shower but it soon cleared. There was a steady stream of customers, locals and visitors alike, some came to look while others found a bargain or two and also caught up with friends who had made to drive to Tinonee.
At this time it is not sure when the next market day will be held but the hall committee will discuss the success of the day at their next meeting on Monday, September 12. This will be their annual general meeting beginning at 7pm, followed by the general meeting. All interested persons are invited to attend.
The hall committee will be busy on Saturday, September 24, when the Manning Valley Choral Society will perform Tea & Tragedy from 2pm at the Hall. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 for the concert, with an additional charge for the afternoon tea provided by the committee.
