The grant for $19,200 from the NSW Government’s Public Reserve Management Fund, will enable the female toilets to be renovated and upgraded, increasing the number of existing cubicles from two to four.
Over the past few years a great deal of work has been carried out to upgrade and refurbish the hall including a new kitchen, disabled toilet, new windows, a new verandah with disabled access and most recently, a fresh coat of paint. The community is very active in its efforts to maintain the hall and surrounding buildings, with regular working bees, fund raising events and applying for appropriate grants.
“The hall is the heart of our community, with much of our social life and local activities taking place within its walls. We are very proud of its long history and greatly value the role it plays within our community. I would very much like to thank Alison McIntosh and Michelle Swannack for preparing the grant submission, enabling the ongoing preservation of our wonderful old hall”, stated local resident and hall trustee George Hoad.
