This year it was a trip to the Slim Dusty centre at Kempsey.
On the trip to Kempsey the bus stopped at Johns River where everybody enjoyed a Christmas morning tea, with all the rich food that everybody enjoys at Christmas time. It was then on to the bus for Kempsey.
The Slim Dusty centre is very interesting as it displays all of Slim’s achievements over his lifetime from a very young lad until his passing.
Everyone was truly amazed at what he had achieved over his lifetime.
I must say that he was a true Australian with what he has done for this country and the way he did it.
After the tour of the centre all enjoyed a Christmas lunch and a small Christmas present.
Sadly it was time to leave and everybody arrived home after an excellent day.
The photography outing to Tapin Tops was cancelled due to the inclement weather, nobody was prepared to take on the mud and slush.
The monthly meeting had a good attendance, although some members have headed to Queensland for some warmer weather.
The guest speaker was Mr Stephen Ryan, a one-time crime reporter with the Newcastle Herald.
He spoke on the many changes that have taken place in the news media over his time as a reporter.
