The focus is on turning everyday items destined for landfill into beautiful, upcycled treasures. Aimed at women the series will also include a workshop on marketing if any of the participants hope to take their passion further.
The series kicked off in February with an introduction to power tools, facilitated by volunteers from the Wallis Lake Men’s Shed (also located on the grounds of the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre.
One workshop was dedicated entirely to turning old wooden packaging pallets into a range of furniture items.
More recently a weaving workshop was conducted with participants using colourful electrical cord and other found objects to create a range of beautiful baskets:
