Mr Li and his interpreter Anna from the Chinese company Aoyaxin Lan Beef, a customer of Wingham Beef Exports, visited the museum on a previous business trip.
So impressed were they with the friendliness of the museum volunteers and the breadth of the displays that Mr Li tasked Anna to design and have crafted a crystal plaque to be presented as a gift.
On July 13, Mr Li and Anna again visited the museum whilst on a business trip to Wingham and presented the plaque, made in Shanghai, as a gesture of good will and congratulations to the “Best museum in Wingham” and the friendship extended to Aoxyaxin Lan Beef.
“Not all our international visitors make such a presentation in appreciation of the museum. Most leave comments such as "Fantastic" or 'Impressive' or 'Wonderful' or 'Best Museum I have seen' or 'beautifully presented' or 'excellent' or 'the best we have seen-so very interesting’,” Manning Valley Historical Society volunteer, Allen Valentine said.
