Federal elections are largely fought on a macro level – taxation, the economy, national security, health and education funding.
But, as the saying goes, all politics are local.
With that in mind, both major parties have been keen to win Queensland voters over as they attempt to gain a majority in the House of Representatives.
And for some voters, those local promises could be enough for them to endorse Malcolm Turnbull's democratically untested prime ministership, or deliver the keys to The Lodge to Bill Shorten.
Fairfax Media has sought to include local promises by both the major parties (that is, the parties that had a realistic chance of forming government and could actually deliver), so voters could see what they were offering their local communities.
Simply find your electorate on the list below to see what's in store.
Such local promises could sway primary or preferential votes in many electorates.
However, some readers might notice a lack of LNP promises across the board.
That was because, despite repeated requests and several days' notice of this guide's publication, it did not provide a comprehensive list.
Fairfax Media has included as many LNP promises as it could source.
