Held on Saturday, June 18 the high tea was held as part of the NSW Cancer Council’s annual “Biggest Morning Tea’.
Owner Donna Carrier said she wanted to hold an event on a weekend so people could spend a few hours relaxing with some food and wine, and listen to local musicians.
Keith Bedggood and Craig Bourke gave up their time to play for the crowd of more than 60 people, and local businesses donated a variety of prizes. A number of Bent on Food staff also donated their time for the event.
“The weather was not on our side so the garden plan had to be dropped, it was a very cosy space with standing room only.” said Donna.
Donna has plans for further fundraising events in the future including Dry July with all donations being donated to Manning Hospital to support cancer patients.
