Former NRL player Jamal Idris was the special guest, however, he chose not to strap on the boots.
The Tigers went into the game without halfback Trent Green, who was a late withdrawal through injury.
The game did not start well for the home team, after winger Tyler Atkins was ruled to have caught the ball from a kick and then taken it over the sideline.
The video showed that his foot was already in touch. From the resulting scrum, the Pirates scored and lead 6-0 after just two minutes.
At the 15 minute mark, Michael Rees stepped through the defence to score. Michael Bailey added the extra points to level the scores 6-6.
Five minutes later, captain coach Kurt Lewis put up a bomb that was caught by the Old Bar ful back, who was in turn tackled by Adam Dale. He was ruled off-side, and when he questioned the decision was sent to the sin bin. Once again the game video showed that he was behind the ball when it was kicked.
The resulting penalty put the Pirates on the attack, but an intercept by Michael Bailey saw him run 90 metres to score under the posts at the other end. He converted his own try for a 12-6 lead.
Five minutes later, Old Bar scored after they caught a bomb put up on the last tackle.
With the Tigers back to their full complement, Tim Bridge scored in the corner. The teams went into halftime with Wingham ahead by 16-10.
Michael Bailey scored his second try inside the first ten minutes of the second stanza in the canteen corner. He nailed the sideline conversion for a 22-10 advantage.
Shortly afterwards, Corey Sheehan was stripped of the ball in a tackle. A scrum was ruled. When captain coach Kurt Lewis questioned the decision, he was marched to the sin bin for 10 minutes.
With the visitors attacking, Wingham were forced to a line drop out. It was ruled that a player was in front of the kicker. From the resulting penalty, the Pirates scored to make the score 22-16.
Kurt Lewis stepped the defence to score near the posts, and with Michael Bailey's kick, the Tigers led 28-16.
A try by Old Bar Beach five minutes from full time made the score 28-22.
A couple of minutes later, a penalty goal by Michael Bailey sealed the 30-22 victory.
(Michael Bailey 2, Michael Rees, Tim Bridge, Kurt Lewis tries, Michael Bailey 5 goals).
This Saturday the Tigers take on equal third placed Port City at Wingham.
