Motorists using the busy Killawarra Bridge are advised that traffic will be reduced to a single lane until further notice. A pavement issue was identified by Greater Taree City Council maintenance crews as part of their routine bridge inspection cycle.
Temporary traffic lights are in place to manage traffic flow through a single lane, and the speed limit is reduced to 40km/h. Motorists are asked to use caution and follow all traffic control signage in the vicinity. Minor delays can be expected.
Killawarra Bridge was the first major bridge over the Manning River, built in 1900 and then replaced in 1988. It is a major thoroughfare for motorists travelling to and from Wingham.
