Veterans Golf
ON Wednesday 60 veterans played a stableford round.
The winner was Shea Welsh with 44 points, next was Mike Parker 42 points, third place went to Neville Bell 39 points (great to see Neville looking well again).
The sharp shooters winning the NTP on the third and 12th was Bill Osborne and on the seventh and 16th Neville Bell.
Thursday Chook Run
GO the girls.
Pat Whiteley was the winner with 24 points, next was Ross Dawson 22 c/b, followed by Craig Harrison 22 c/b, Ian Herd 22 c/b, Beth Braham 21 c/b and Barry Brown 21.
Barry also won the NTP on the third while Dave Andrews won the seventh with a s shot that finished 0.64 cm from the hole.
Saturday golf
ON Saturday 73 players played for the Wingham Cellars trophy, the comp was a stroke round with the annual Captains versus President day with the president winning convincingly. There were visitors from Frederickton Golf Club.
The winner was David Broadbent with 65 nett on a countback.
A-grade was won by Phil Jirman 70, runner-up Josh McCloud 73.
B-grade Glenn Smyth 69, runner-up Adam Buchtman 70.
C-grade was Greg McCloud 69 the unlucky player beaten on a countback, runner-up Matt Peters 68.
Paul Boyd had an eagle three on the 14th.
The NTP winners were on the first and 10th Glenn Smyth winning the Wingham Plaza Butchers voucher, on the third and 12th Caddies Voucher, Sandy Dunn, All About Conveyancing on the fourth and 13th Ben Marron, Wayne Lewis won the highly sought after Bayview Seafood voucher on the seventh and 16th, and the Bent On Food was won by Ben Marron.
Balls went out to 74 on a countback.
Events coming up
Saturday April 30 the Jax Tyres 4BBB will be played, and on Sunday the Glass 24/7 Wingham Open Day will be held.
On May 7 the club championships will start.
