The combination of Rex Dawson, Col Watson, Laurie Mullen and Paul Swan showed no mercy to their opponents, Narelle Foy, Pat Marcus, Elaine Holden and Denise Polley with the final score being 33-12. However the girls did frighten the men when they led 8-2 after only four ends but from then on it was all the men's way.
Lillian Cross, Denise Matheson, Claudia O’Donnell and Tina Rushworth gave their opponents Tom Moore, Graeme Ireland, Peter Hall and Peter Holden a more competitive game with the final score favouring the men 23-16.
Glen Dennes, Kev Coles, Daniel Leadbeater and Snow Trenchard came up against Gwen Bell, Pam Weir, Sini Wolters and June Pedron with the males winning 26-11. However the girls did recover from the 15th end when they found themselves down by 16 shots.
In the remaining game Barry Kershaw, Hunter Payton, Tony Baker and Mick Hollebone played Nancy Sandford, Laurelle Dennes, Chris Willey and Joe Duncan with Nancy’s team in a lot of trouble after being down 12 nil after six ends but they recovered to get within two shots on the 13th end but the final result went to the men 24-15.
