"To ensure the ongoing success and viability of our local show, I would encourage gardeners and garden clubs from across the area to enter exhibits not only in the Potted Plants and Bonsai section, but also think about entering exhibits in all sections of the show," George enthuses.
Most keen gardeners have a few favourite potted specimens on the verandah or in the green house, so why not enter and try your luck and share your passion.
Two new categories this year include hanging basket - annual floral display and hanging basket - edible display (eg herbs/vegies/edible flowers).
Why not plant up a few baskets now and grow on for the show? A great way to get the kids and grandkids involved!
Also on offer for gardeners are a number of sections including cut flowers, fruit and vegetables, jams and preserves, and if you are handy with a camera, the photography section. Pot plant entries are only 50c per pot, with entries closing on Wednesday, March 2, with entered pots to be lodged on Thursday, March 3 between 3pm-6pm. Full show schedules and entry forms are available at the Wingham Chronicle office and other local businesses.
