It's a trip designed to shift the political focus back to climate change, but it's Bill Shorten's dad dance moves getting the attention.
A vine of the Opposition Leader dancing with locals in Kiribati appeared on Wednesday.
The ABC video has taken off on social media, where users have been sharing the footage of the Labor Leader dancing like no one is watching.
Mr Shorten has been travelling this week to remote Pacific Islands at risk from rising sea levels.
The low-lying Kiribati and Marshall Islands are among the nations most under threat from climate change.
Kiribati's President Anote Tong has called for a moratorium on all new coal mines and has been critical of the Australian government's enthusiasm for large fossil fuel projects.
Marshall Islands Foreign Minister Tony de Brum has called for Australia to accelerate its emissions cuts by bringing forward its emissions reduction targets by five years.
Oh my. I find Bill Shorten dancing to be the first endearing thing he has done.— Lucy Cochran (@lucycochran)

I usually have no sympathy for Bill Shorten. But no middle age male should be subjected to this. https://t.co/ETerCj1QSN— Monsterdome (@Monster_Dome)
