AFTER the great success of their "Mozart to Musicals" concerts last year, the Manning Valley U3A Silver Tones Singers have been working hard rehearsing for another two concerts under the directorship of Pam Archer which they will present to the public in October. The theme this year is "Melodies and Memories Through Song".

The first concert will be held at the Catholic Church, Farquhar Street, Wingham on October 18 at 2 pm. The second concert will be held at St Johns Anglican Church, Taree, on October 25, also at 2pm. Put these dates in your diary!
The choir will sing a wide range of music to get your toes tapping and take you down memory lane with many old favourites, folk songs, selections from Gilbert and Sullivan and Andrew Lloyd Webber and songs from six different countries.
In addition there will be solos from Pam Phillips and Greg Falk, clarinet solos from Terry Stanton and a vocal ensemble. What better way to spend a spring afternoon than listening to the U3A Silver Tones Singers.
The proceeds from both concerts will be donated to Can Assist, so come along for a wonderful uplifting afternoon of music and support a very worthy cause.
Can Assist relies heavily on volunteer members to raise funds to support people in their local community affected by cancer. Can Assist can provide financial assistance with expenses like medical, pharmaceutical, travel and accommodation to help alleviate the financial burden of a cancer diagnosis.
Tickets are only $10 adults and $5 children and can be purchased at the door.
A delicious afternoon tea will be available for a gold coin donation.
