The day was well attended by the community and discussions centred around preparing property, action plans, burn permits and the RFS “Fires near me” app. Children were given the opportunity to explore the fire trucks and battle imaginary fires with the fire hoses. The sausage sizzle and free giveaways were also a hit.
A strong team of Tinonee Brigade members were available during the day and they shared their knowledge and skills in many different ways.
“We are lucky to have very dedicated volunteers who always do whatever they can to help out. We are very grateful for the support of our local community as days like this help keep householders and firefighters safe," said Tinonee captain Bruce Annetts.
